Their so clute!

Today we got our new chicks!

They are already peeping to their hearts' content. On their first day your chicks will not know where the water is so you will have to dip their beaks in the water. This is not as easy as it sounds.

They will take a lot of naps during the day but they will stay asleep for no more than a minute. It may look like they are dead.

They will also poop in their food and water. Keep the food and water in easy-to-replace or washable containers. The pictures of our chicks are below:

Here they are,the big cuties!

New chicks!

Sorry we have not posted in a while, but tomorrow we get new chicks.  Important things to have before your chicks arrive are a safe box to keep them in, some bedding, a water tray with rocks so they dont drown, and a contaner to keep their food in. We are naming our birds after Doctor Who companions. Their names will be Rose, River, Donna, Amy, Clara, and Martha.
We needed to put beding in so they would be comfy.
Also it is important to make sure the chicks are kept warm. We put a heat lamp over the brooder so they will be warm. We have to keep the temperature at 36 degrees Celsius for the first week.

Chicks are very cute, but they are a big responsibility. They will grow very fast.

They have a small perch and some toys.
We think it is cool that our chicks have been born on Star Wars Day.
